During your week at camp, the DJ instructional classes each day start with the beginner basics of mixing and lead up to scratching and putting together your own DJ set to be performed at camp. Everyone will take part in group challenges as well as individual practice time to perfect your craft.

DJ Hapa is our featured Instructor and with over 6 years of teaching experience as the director of the Scratch DJ Academy in Los Angeles, he has perfected the art of teaching people how to DJ.

In addition to the DJ instructional course, you will learn music history and have the freedom to choose two of the following electives that peak your interest:

- Beat Making & Remixing: Producing original beats and making your own remixes.

 

- Break Dancing: Become a better DJ by learning the basics from B Boy Murda of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew winner: Super Cr3w!

 

- Music Business & Marketing: Learn the business side of being a DJ and how to promote and protect yourself in the music industry.

 

- Multimedia: Edit your own video & photos. Customize your social networking sites.
